The Beta Phi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated in partnership with Uplift Project Inc. (UPI), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, will be hosting the Inaugural Bull City 5k Diabetes Walk/Run.

Last year, we had over 250 participants across North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. This event was the first race held in Durham, highlighting Diabetes Awareness. Thanks to our inaugural sponsors, Duke University, North Carolina Central University, Durham Technical Community College, United Therapeutics, M&F Bank, Fusion Integrated Solutions, Sam’s Club, and many small businesses and organizations surrounding Durham, it was a huge success. We would greatly appreciate your sponsorship to continue this community event.

 

The start and finish line will be the Blackwell and Willard Streets intersection near the Durham Bulls Stadium in Durham beginning at 8 am on September 7, 2024. In addition to the race, participants can enjoy line dancing, yoga, and other family-friendly activities that will keep their hearts pumping, keep Durham moving toward a healthier lifestyle, and close the health disparities gap. All proceeds will support the American Diabetes Association, diabetes education, and other health awareness programs benefiting Durham families. Online registration is open and will include a t-shirt, medal, and bib. There is no virtual participation at this time.
